“Staying in”… sure is the continued theme, huh? 2020 has come and gone, and now that 2021 is here, we are still highly encouraged to stay in to stay healthy. So, while staying in, we wanted to give you some ideas of how to make it a special Valentine’s Day instead of having a night out. In an effort to make this worth your while, all of the ideas listed below are affordable as well.

  1. Get dressed up! Just because you’re staying in, doesn’t mean you can’t put on your favorite shoes (whatever that may be – heels or converse), your favorite dress, leggings, or jeans, and get all dolled up. Have fun with it, wear what makes you feel confident and radiates how you feel.
  2. Decide on dinner and make it a feast. One of our favorite things to do is get our favorite take out or grocery store treats (maybe it’s a combination of both) and really treat yourself.
    1. Some favorites: take-out pizza, Chinese, sushi, and lastly… since its Valentine’s Day… of course don’t skip the candy, ice cream, or whatever your sweet tooth craves.
  3. Pick your favorite board games. If there’s anything we have learned from 2020, it’s that there are some seriously fun games out there. Grab your favorite people and your favorite games and spend all night eating and playing games.
  4. Bake! Maybe you decide on take out, but you prefer to make a night of baking and enjoying your night in, surrounded by friends or sisters and bake the night away.
    1. Fun idea – if you bake more than you can eat, package up the extras in some pink baggies and take them to your family and friends. It’s a win-win. You got to enjoy the night and bake, and those around you will feel the love this Valentine’s Day from the goodies you deliver.
  5. Tell someone you love them. If there’s one thing that we have learned from this year, it’s that we can’t take anything for granted. If someone would have told you in 2019 that 2020 would be consumed by a pandemic, would you believe them? Any way… the point is, call your mom, your grandma, grandpa, aunt, uncle, elderly neighbor that doesn’t have family and just tell them Happy Valentine’s Day. You’d be amazed at how much that small act makes such a huge difference in someone’s life.
  6. Be kind. If you are out and about on Valentine’s day, or days surrounding this holiday, always be kind. (Be kind every day, but especially today.) You don’t know what others are going through. Maybe this is someone’s first Valentine’s day without a loved one. Remember that a smile could mean the world to someone!

We are sure you’ll make the most of what you’ve got for this holiday. We believe in you!
